About Us

In 2006, an idea culminated into this website that offers information to anyone on what counselling is, hence infocentral was developed into a website. Its original roots was to offer information on many types of disciplines including engineering, science and technology. This was halted as it was seen that there are no websites based in Gibraltar that focuses on mental health and most importantly, what is counselling therapy. In 2007, the website started as a five page website, slowly growing in size and updating content frequently. To give a better service to users, it was an idea to include a directory of counsellors, relevant books from amazon.co.uk shown on the right side of every page that can be purchased from them and hotel booking services. Any monies collected from the website is served to pay the running costs of maintaining the webserver running 24/7.

Why is the directory cheap for inclusion?

The answer to this question is simple, there are no expensive web developer costs involved and there are no hosting charges and no domain name charges! It is also cheap because the profile can be customised to suit any budget as other websites offer a one profile package. All I have to worry about is that the equipment works which is why money is asked for if a counsellor wants to be included in the directory. We do this to help others so that people know what counselling is and help is at hand if they want it.

Do we make a profit on this website?

We do not make any profit in keeping this website running! Other websites can offer a counselling directory that are based in Spain or in the UK. What I offer is a fraction of the cost of what other websites ask, therefore, I can offer cheap, reliable, search engine friendly profiles for any practising counsellor. I therefore encourage any practising therapist to apply for inclusion who lives in Spain or Gibraltar.

Who are we?

I am Jose Linares (the web developer) and my brother is Francisco Linares (the editor). Francisco finances part of the monies needed for the smooth running of the website and he is considered as a benefactor to the website amongst the other counsellors who have paid previously to be displayed as a practising counsellor. I develop all the code needed to display the pages properly and edit the pages with fresh content periodically. I also run the administrative side of the website in accepting new counsellors for the directory, editing and updating content and issuing newsletters to subscribers and emailing users back with any queries they might have.
